A good high chair is an essential in your kitchen when a baby comes along.  It took a while, but a few companies realized that the high chair did not have to be a big bulky eye sore.  Two of our favorites at My Urban Child are by Boon and Scandinavian Child.

The Baby to Booster by Scandinavian Child is a winner of top industry awards with its sleek modern design.  This high chair easily folds up to a compact easy to store and move size.  It is recommended for children ages 6 months to 5 years.  We like it best for the toddler age.  They will get so much use in their own chair that really looks like a grown up chair made just the right size for them.  Mom and dad will be happy to have the stylish chair at the table and not counting down the days until they can toss it to the curb.  The solid birch construction insures years of use that will be as beautiful the day you out grow it as the day you got it.  IT comes in three color options: Natural with lime, White with tangerine and Espresso with Almond.

Combi has redesigned it's entertainers for 2014.  They have the classic car look in a multitude of colors and this one features above which is the Combi Adventure Mobile Entertainer.  We love the bright colors, striped seat and ready for action handles.

Sleeping Options for Baby

Are you looking for something different than a traditional crib for your baby.  When your baby is small it is great to have options.  One of our favorite alternatives to a crib is the Hushamock Sleeping Hammock.

The Hushamock Sleeping Hammock is made of organic cotton and comes complete with a mattress and two fitted sheets.  It really could not be easier!  There are two different options for the stand to hang the baby hammock from.  The Okoa stand is made from beautiful Euporean Beechwood.  The other alternative is the Dream stand which is made from light aluminum for easy portability. Who doesn't like sleeping in a hammock?  Your baby will love it too!

Airflow Classic Pedal Cars

With the holidays quickly approaching, we have the perfect gift for your toddlers.  The Airflow classic pedal cars will provide kids with hours of fun while they get out and get a little exercise too.  The pedal cars are recommended for kids 2-5 and they are made of steel to last all those years and many more.  They look like a car or plane from the 30's-50's and built like they were back then with craftsmanship and quality.

Not Your Mother's Glider

The glider is an essential piece for a nursery to have.  All those precious cuddle moments that will be spent there feeding, snuggling and rocking you baby.  I can not help but smile when I think back to mine time in the glider of my children's nurseries.  Gone are the days of having a big ugly glider that you use for the baby's first years and then quickly trash when they get older.  The stylish modern nursery now has options stylish modern gliders to choose from.
